Camera Strap

Sewing is not one of my strong suits, I don't do it very often and when I do I am using my thread ripper more than the actual sewing machine. BUT the other day I found this tutorial and Lori explained how to make this camera strap cover so well, that I decided to try it.
I liked it because it had a little pocket for my lens cap.

Don't look to close because it is not perfect but it was very easy to make. I added a diagonal line so that the cover would stay in place.

Living Room Redo

We recently moved and all of our furniture in the living room furniture is brown and it needed some livening up. I wish that I had a picture of the before coffee table. and the brown living room. I guess you'll just have to take my word for it.

This is the coffee table and legs. We were a bit disappointed with the color but I think it will improve when we antique it later.
Our old dresser/makeshift TV stand. I hope you notice the nice remains of the sticker that was once placed there.
and now the sticker is non-existent.

What do you think of the color. I think it really livens up the living room quite a bit. Yeah for bright paint colors.

Summer Garden

This summer we decided to do some gardening in our local community garden. We live in an apartment so we were super excited to find that there was a community garden in our area.
This is what it looked like in the beginning.

We planted some root vegetables at first,

than we planted squashes, tomatoes and other things that would go bad if there was a frost.

So we have peas

squash and zucchini

Beans

corn

Broccoli and Cauliflower

and so many other things.

I have been able to make so many yummy things from veggies from our garden. Gardening has been so much fun and has taken all my crafting time but it has been so worth it.

Warm Fuzzy Bag

I love to camp!! But sometimes I get so cold at night, then I remembered something that I was given when I was younger. Some awesome leaders that I had gave me a bag with a bottle in it that we would  fill up with hot water and put it at the bottom of our sleeping bag and it would keep us warm all night long!
So I decided to make some for my self and for the other craft leaders who worked with me at girls camp.

This is what I did...
I got some fleece

and some medical bottles

I cut the fleece into 10x13 inch pieces and folded them in half the long way

I surged the two sides

Then folded over the top and sewed it to make a place for the string to go.

I cut two cuts into the tube for the string to go into and tie at.

So you just put hot water in your bottle and put it at the bottom of your sleeping bag and the fleece keeps it warm longer.

When I gave it to the women at camp I had a little description tag with it that said

"There once was a village that was full of kindness love and compassion. Each member of the village owned a special bag filled with warm fuzzies. The people in the village gave each other warm fuzzies any time the wanted to let someone know they were loved. This is my warm fuzzy to you to let you know that you are loved.
Fill your bottle with warm water and put it in your warm fuzzy bag at the bottom of your sleeping bag. As you are warm in your bed, think of way you can let others know they are loved too."

I got the idea from this blog.

Car Sear Cover

My sister-in-law is going to have a baby girl in September and I wanted to make her something that she could use for the baby. I found this tutorial here.

It was super simple and it turned out pretty cute. I hope she like it.
