Warm Fuzzy Bag

I love to camp!! But sometimes I get so cold at night, then I remembered something that I was given when I was younger. Some awesome leaders that I had gave me a bag with a bottle in it that we would  fill up with hot water and put it at the bottom of our sleeping bag and it would keep us warm all night long!

So I decided to make some for my self and for the other craft leaders who worked with me at girls camp.

This is what I did... 

I got some fleece

and some medical bottles

I cut the fleece into 10x13 inch pieces and folded them in half the long way

I surged the two sides

Then folded over the top and sewed it to make a place for the string to go.

I cut two cuts into the tube for the string to go into and tie at.

 So you just put hot water in your bottle and put it at the bottom of your sleeping bag and the fleece keeps it warm longer.

When I gave it to the women at camp I had a little description tag with it that said

"There once was a village that was full of kindness love and compassion. Each member of the village owned a special bag filled with warm fuzzies. The people in the village gave each other warm fuzzies any time the wanted to let someone know they were loved. This is my warm fuzzy to you to let you know that you are loved.

Fill your bottle with warm water and put it in your warm fuzzy bag at the bottom of your sleeping bag. As you are warm in your bed, think of way you can let others know they are loved too."

Subway Art Finished Product

This is another Camp Craft, I made the digital part a few weeks ago and here is the finished product.

Girls Camp Bucket

Girls Camp Craft #3 is this fun bucket.

 As a youth at camp we made these and I loved mine I brought it to camp every year, I would but my camp journal, scriptures, camp manual, and candy in my bucket! This could be used not just for camp but any time you need to carry stuff with you and have a seat.

I got my bucket at Wal-mart for around three dollars 

If you are going to glue your cushion on you will need about a quarter of a yard of material. You can also sew a cushion, if you do this you will need a little more material.

You will need hot glue, filling and a marker also. 

I just took my lid started glueing on one side and add your padding in as you glue. 

Just add your details to your bucket and you are ready to go.

any size bucket will do and you can get them many different places, I got my first one from a hardware store they were getting ride of it. 

13th Article of Faith Subway Art

I have been working on some subway art for girls camp. The theme for the year is the 13th Article of Faith. This is what I came up with, what do you think?

This will be printed off on to scrapbook paper and mod podge to a block of wood just like this and this.

Young Womens Theme Subway Art

This is Girls Camp Craft Number 2!

I have seen this Subway Art on a ton of blogs so I decided to try it out. I Created this on photoshop and then printed it off on card-stock scrapbook paper. 

 

I painted my board blue then I used mod podge to put the paper on the board.

I like the way it turned out, I don't love the blue on the board I might sand it off and try another color. If you are going to try this be sure to use card-stock and not regular paper, it wrinkles and doesn't really work. I am also working on another word combo using the key words in the Thirteenth Article of Faith.

I could do a free printable if anyone really wants, just let me know. 

Fabric Flower

This is a first in what will hopefully be a series :) I am going to girls camp!! I am so excited! I will be doing camp crafts so I am trying out some of the ideas we have to see how long they will take and how much they will cost. I got this fun idea from A Little Tipsy. She has some super cute ideas!

This is what I used:

Glue Gun

Fabric

Scissors 

and a Button

Cut your fabric into circles

Fold each circle in half and then in half again

Glue them to one of the your circles (I used a different piece of fabric)

Glue your four circles onto your main circle

Glue your button on top

On the back I added a strip of fabric to slide a clip under so the clip can be reused.
