Reading Wreath

I like to get ideas from those around me and create my own spin on things. I made this wreath a few months ago and have not gotten around to blogging about it. It took a very long time, which I had plenty of at the time. I got the idea from another blog I was looking at. Now I cant find where I got it from, but whoever you are out there, GREAT IDEA. Everyone who stops by loves it.
It was made by cutting pages from a book (I got at the thrift store) into circles. Then, cutting them further into long spirals. I put three or so pages together to make each rose. Starting from the outer edge and rolling in to the center of the circle. Then I glued the spiral roses to a foam ring from the craft store. Super easy, just took time is all.
Close up of the wreath roses. (As you can tell, not so steady with the camera.)
I'm planning on adding a pop of color later by adding some other paper roses that I made such as these (below) or maybe some great colored ribbon!

  1. What a fun idea. I feel like I should make one - seems appropriate for a former English teacher's house.
