Girls Camp Bucket

Girls Camp Craft #3 is this fun bucket.
As a youth at camp we made these and I loved mine I brought it to camp every year, I would but my camp journal, scriptures, camp manual, and candy in my bucket! This could be used not just for camp but any time you need to carry stuff with you and have a seat.
I got my bucket at Wal-mart for around three dollars
If you are going to glue your cushion on you will need about a quarter of a yard of material. You can also sew a cushion, if you do this you will need a little more material.
You will need hot glue, filling and a marker also.

I just took my lid started glueing on one side and add your padding in as you glue.

Just add your details to your bucket and you are ready to go.
any size bucket will do and you can get them many different places, I got my first one from a hardware store they were getting ride of it.

Mothers Day 2011

This is what decided to make for Mothers Day 2011! Athena, Clay and I made them for grandparents we hope they love them!
 What I did:
I got my shirts at Wal-mart for $5.
I printed the letters onto paper using Courier font. Then I had some black puff paint and copied the letters from the paper and smoothed out the paint using a q-tip. Red pastel paint for the hand prints.
I made the same for grandmas and grandpa!
Happy Mothers Day!!

5 Can Soup

I was looking for something super easy for dinner the other night and then I remembered my Mom's 5 Can Soup. This recipe is easy, it only takes about 15 minutes and its is very inexpensive.
 You will need:
Can of Tomato Soup
Can of ABC Vegetable Soup
Can of Chili
Can of Corn
Can of Green Beans

This is the easiest version of this soup, you could add fresh veggies which would make it yummy too. My Mom would often make roast and potatoes for sunday dinner and then take the leftovers and add them to 5 Can Soup. She would add ABC noodles, and other veggies instead of the can of vegetable soup.

I made this on Cinco de Mayo so I added chicken (just cause) and then added taco seasoning to the chicken.

Then I added my cans

Then just bring it to a boil and you are ready to eat.

We also added cheese and sour cream, for Cinco de Mayo.

Kids will love it too!!

Purse-ood

A couple of years ago I was searching for the perfect purse. My problem is everything I want doesn't exist because I want a little of something from this or that item. Good thing for me I have a sewing machine and access to major skills (I mean getting ideas from other bloggers.) I got the idea for my bags at The Vintage Clothespin. She is so Creative.
I wanted something that was big enough to hold a notebook, day planner, keys, wallet, phone and such. I loved the way ruffles at the top of the bags. It makes it have a touch of femininity. Which I need sometimes.
I put pockets in it for great organization.
This is the first one that I made that I decided was too small to put the things I wanted inside. So I use this one for my Sunday bag. It has everything I need for Church.

Mothers Day Idea

This Mothers Day gift has a little bit of a back story. Every Christmas growing up we would make my grandparents sweatshirts. These sweatshirts where one of a kind, they would say things like "We've got to hand it to you Grandma you are the BEST" then my mom would have a put our hand prints on them. Every year our Mom would come up with a creative new saying to put on these sweatshirts. I wish I had a picture of one because they were amazing!
Well now that my Mom is a grandma I thought I would do the same for her, so last year for Mothers Day Athena, Clay and I made these babies!

On the front they say " My granddaughter LOVES me..." and they have a cute hand print of my 5 month old daughter. Then on the back they say "to the MOON and back" and that is a bum print of my little girl. I actually put paint on her 5 month old bum and put it on their shirts. They loved them! I did pink for Grandma and blue for Grandpa and gave the grandpa's theirs for fathers day.
What I did:
I got my shirts for $5 at Wal-mart,
I used a fabric marker to write the words,
I cut the letters LOVES out of fabric and using the iron on stuff I ironed the letters on,
I used pink and blue paint to do the hand and bum print.

Stay tuned for this years gift!
